Pictures from our 5 day visit to Kent. On the way down we visited Chartwell – home of Winston Churchill. The children particularly enjoyed the Maryhouse built for one of their daughters – I think Bear is hoping for her own one now….Day 2 we visited Dover Castle. This was a very full day – the castle itself, the medieval tunnels, guided tours through the war time tunnels with a focus on the Dunkirk evacuation, and a Roman lighthouse. We also stopped off at a NT viewpoint to watch the port and look at the french coast.Day 3 we found a beach. It was cold in the water, but they loved it.Day 4 we returned to the beach and also visited Deal and Walmer castles. And day 5 we visited Louis Bleriot’s landing site , Lullingstone Roman Villa (which was very good, but no photos) and then came home via Granny and Grandad’s.
